Small stuffed elephant of felt. 6 centimetres.
This is all hand-sewn.
Cut the parts without seam allowance.
Darts are sewn from inside.
Other seams are sewed outside.
Sew the soles.
You may put a wire wrapped with cotton batting in the nose.
Tail and tusk.
Stitch beads as eyes. Attach the tusks.
Sew the wrinkles of nose.
Then attach ears.
Pattern.
If you are not a novice, add seam allowances and sew from inside.
It may look better and be strong.
Thank you very much for this great tutorial.

This is another great tutorial Runo,Thank you! I will make this for my grandson! I will embroider the eyes and not use wire, but I think he will enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteI love elephants. What a wonderful tutorial! I'll be linking on Facebook. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThank you Runo for this perfect pachyderm. My friends daughter gave all of her birthday money to save a pygmy elephant, I think she deserves her own little elephant, don't you?
ReplyDeleteThanks to your template for a 2 inch elephant I made a 56 inch long and 36 inch high stuffed elephant with moving legs to ride around on Halloween. It took me 10 months, its the best thing I've ever done and I would never have been able to do it without you. You can see it here-(http://www.facebook.com/people/Chani-Hubbell/1575155703).Again, thank you so, so much.

ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Almost done with my elephant. Just need to invert it and stuff in cotton and sew it back!
Thank you very much for this!
Grace of God unto you.
I love this and your leopard. Could you put a pattern up the lop ears of the lop bunny. I don't understand when you say bigger. Wider or longer? Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely making thisl. I will add seam allowance, enlarge it and use safety eyes. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! This helped me do my school project and I got a great mark!
ReplyDeleteIt is really cute. I also like how it looks like a real elephant. I've actually riden an elephant before. I'm going to make this.

ReplyDeleteHi. I just want to say that this pattern is really good. You're a really good pattern drafter.
ReplyDeleteSweet! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing! I'm going to use this plan and 25-50 pounds (11 kilograms - 23 kilograms) of polyester filler to make an over sized stuffed elephant (perhaps the size of a baby elephant?) It may sound crazy, and a lot of work, but it will certainly please my significant other. I can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteI made this out of felted sweater. Such sweet elephant! Thank you for sharing the pattern and tutorial.

On the top part of the tail, what are the dotted lines for? Are they fold lines or sewing lines?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
They are fold lines.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I increased the size of your pattern and used it for the Wooly Mammoth my son has been wanting. It was so much nicer than having to make my own pattern.

ReplyDeleteI love this pattern and am making it for my friend's baby. Thank you for sharing! Question - how and when did you sew the wrinkles in the nose?
ReplyDeleteI sewed the nose wrinkles after stuffing. Wrinkles are simple big three stitches. Pull the thread strongly, thread looks like wrinkle.
ReplyDeleteawsome! i love your pattern! <3
